Movement BE — Creative Arts & Education

Tell your storybefore they do.

Empowering the next generation through storytelling, creative arts, and education.

What Movement BE is

Not an afterschool program. Not a local youth center. A storytelling-centered educational methodology — and the creative arts partner that helps institutions implement, customize and scale it.

Our Methodology

Four pillars.
One story.

The Movement BE methodology moves young people from self-discovery to real-world opportunity. Each pillar builds on the last, and every program we deliver is structured around all four.

Discover and express your identity.

Students examine where they come from, what they value and who they are becoming — then learn to express it through voice, sound, image and performance.

  • Identity mapping
  • Personal narrative
  • Voice and authorship

Build meaningful connections.

Stories are shared, heard and built together. Collaborative creative work develops empathy, trust and the ability to connect across differences.

  • Peer collaboration
  • Active listening
  • Mentorship

Develop confidence and direction.

When young people see their story has value, confidence follows. Students connect their identity to goals, values and a sense of direction.

  • Goal setting
  • Self-advocacy
  • Reflection

Turn creativity into real-world opportunities.

Creative skills become career-ready skills. Students explore industries, build portfolios and practice the communication and leadership that open doors.

  • Career exploration
  • Portfolio building
  • Industry exposure

Integrated by design

Where three disciplines meet.

Most programs treat social-emotional growth, the arts and career preparation as separate efforts. The Movement BE methodology integrates them into one continuous experience.

  1. 01

    Social-emotional learning

Self-awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making are practiced through the act of telling — and listening to — real stories.

  2. 02

    Creative expression

Podcasting, music, theater, film and visual art give every student a medium for their voice, and a reason to keep developing it.

  3. 03

    Career readiness

Every creative project mirrors professional practice: deadlines, collaboration, presentation and feedback that translate directly to the workforce.

Education & Programs

Built to fit
your institution.

Movement BE offerings are designed as modular, customizable programs for institutional partners. We work with each partner to shape scope, schedule, age group and outcomes around their students and mission.

About Movement BE

Every young person deserves to define who they are.

Movement BE was founded by Nate Howard on a simple conviction: if young people do not tell their own story, someone else will tell it for them.

Nate is a social entrepreneur, storyteller, speaker and education innovator. Movement BE grew out of his work with young people and his belief that storytelling is one of the most powerful tools for building identity, confidence and direction.

What began as creative programming became a methodology — Story, Relationships, Purpose, Pathway — that can be taught, adapted and implemented by institutions of every size. Today Movement BE partners with schools, universities, sports academies and organizations to bring that approach to more young people.
